Winter Festival with Frosty

  • When: Saturday, 9:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.
  • Where: Bright Horizons at Beverly Cummings Center
  • What: 'Bundle up and join us for winter fun on our NEW playground, then cozy up and get creative with Frosty in our Art Studio and Movement Matters Zone! Breakfast and photos with Frosty, winter art projects in our Art Studio, outdoor scavenger hunt and tree decorating on our new playground. Warm up in our Movement Matters Zone with music and entertainment by local artists “Vic and Sticks" at 11:30 a.m.'

Zumba for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society

  • When: Saturday, 1-2:30 p.m.
  • Where: Italian Community Center
  • What: 'Join Ashley McGilloway as she reaches her goal of raising $4,000 to run the Boston Marathon in memory of her uncle, Fred Abate. Please help us remember him at this 2nd annual Zumba event. $1,000 was raised last year and Ashley hopes to double this amount! There will be raffles and food from Casual Catering following the event. A $20 suggested donation and cash raffle tickets will be sold.'

The Shoemaker and the Elves Marionette Puppet Show

  • When: Saturday, 1-2 p.m.
  • Where: Wenham Museum, 132 Main St. in Wenham
  • What: Discover the true meaning of giving in a full-scale marionette puppet show of the beloved Grimm's fairy tale, "The Elves and the Shoemaker." Beautiful full-scale marionettes tell the beloved story about a poor shoemaker and his wife who, after giving their last pair of shoes away to a needy woman, are surprised to find shoes created by caring elves during the night. All ages. Space is limited; pre-registration is strongly recommended. The 11:00am showing is sold-out.

Beverly Salem Elks Hoop Shoot Free Throw Contest

  • When: Sunday, 9 a.m. - 3 p.m.
  • Where: Children's Center for Communication/Beverly School for the Deaf
  • What: 'This is our Lodge's Hoop Shoot Contest for the National  Hoop Shoot Program.  Children aged 8 through 13 are eligible to participate.  Their age as of April 1, 2013 is used to determine eligibility.  Children aged 12-13 start at 9:00am, ages 8-9 start at 11:00am, and ages 10-11 start at 1:00pm. Beverly Community Day at the Phillips House Museum

  • When: Sunday, 11 a.m. - 4 p.m.
  • Where: Phillips House Museum, 32 Chestnut St. in Salem
  • What: Free admission will be offered exclusively to Beverly residents Sunday, January 13, 2013 for regular tours. Tours take place from 11:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. on the half-hour and last approximately 45 minutes. Please call 978-744-0440 for further details.
