Three Men Steal Political Signs From Yard

The following is an excerpt from the Beverly Police log:Â
Friday, Oct. 27
- At 9:10 a.m. police were called to Enon Street on report of a dispute between two business owners. The report states the fight was over one business owner allowing employees to smoke in front of the other storefront. The two parties came to an agreement. Â
- Two stolen bikes were recovered on Bennett Street at 9:26 a.m.
- An assault was reported on Cabot Street at 1:51 p.m. Police reports state a man was hit in the face.Â
- Vandalism by a former tenant was reported on Blaine Street at 2:09 p.m.Â
- At 4:33 p.m. police arrested Valtair Freitas, 43, of 101 Rantoul St., on charges of operating a vehicle with a suspended license and failure to stop/yield.Â
- At 10:46 p.m. police were called to Brackenbury Ln. on report of three men taking political signs from a yard. They were gone when police arrived.Â

- At 12:01 a.m. police arrested a Manchester-by-the-Sea police sergeant  on seven charges following a domestic dispute involving a firearm.Â
- Police were called to Bartlett Street for loud music at 2:17 a.m. Police spoke to the individuals in question, who did not have music on, but were talking loudly.Â
- Police were called to Broughton Drive at 2:37 a.m. on report of a suspicious person at the door. It was a newspaper delivery man who placed the newspaper between the door and the house.Â
- A vehicle was reported vandalized on Oak Street at 9:40 a.m.
- A pedestrian was struck on Enon Street at 10:38 a.m.
- Police were called to Cabot Street on report of two men sleeping in shrubs at 11:59 a.m. Police dispersed them.Â
- At 1:55 p.m. police and Beverly Fire responded to Elm Top Lane on report of a lawn tractor on fire. A fire extinguisher put out the fire. Police said there was no damage to the house.Â
- Police were called to Wallis Street at 2:46 p.m. on report of a person laying in the alley.
- A small fire caused by smoking devices was reported on Rantoul Street at 8:59 p.m.
- Police were called to Grant Street at 11:15 p.m. on report of youths drinking on the sidewalk. Police spoke to the kids, who were playing Manhunt, and did not have any alcohol. Police advised them to quiet down.
Sunday, Oct. 29
- Police were called to a Sunset Drive residence at 12:17 a.m. on report of a 'resident who didn't feel good after smoking marijuana.'Â
- A female yelling for help was reported on Park Street at 12:22 a.m. When police arrived she had left the area.Â
- Police were called to a Rantoul Street residence on report of two suspicious person entering the building at 1:16 a.m. One of the two individuals lived there, police reports said.Â
- Police were called to Bartlett Street on a noise complaint at 2:43 a.m. The person in question told police he was locked out so he was banging on the doors.Â
- A neighbor dispute on Preston Lane was reported at 6:04 p.m. The dispute had been resolved before police arrived.Â
