Thursday Morning Route 128 Accident Caused By Dumpster Roll Over

Accident occurred just before 9 a.m. Thursday morning.

Four individuals were sent to the hospital following an accident involving a trash truck hauling a dumpster on Route 128 South at the Brimbal Avenue exit in Beverly, Thursday morning. 

At 8:55 a.m., a dumpster filled with trash on a truck owned by Waste Management of Woburn, rolled off and into the woodline before Exit 19, Mass. State Police spokesman Dave Procopio said. 

Later, scanner reports indicated there was another crash on the northbound side of Route 128, possibly due to the person looking at the crash on the other side of the highway.

Beverly Fire Chief Peter O'Connor said the driver of the truck, a 50-year-old man from Gloucester, was sent to the hospital from the first crash, and three other individuals were sent to the hospital due to the second crash.
