Tonno Gloucester Announces Chef Neal Maver Is Leaving

Chef Maver Will Be Leaving at the End of Summer to Open Own Restaurant at Cape Ann Brewing Location

Gloucester, Mass. (June 23, 2021) – Tonno Gloucester announces its executive chef, Neal Maver, will be leaving at the end of the summer to open up his own restaurant concept in the former site of Cape Ann Brewing. Maver will be staying on throughout the summer to help the transition of his replacement who has been with Chef/Owner Anthony Caturano and the Tonno Goucester team since March.

“Neal has been a founding member of the Tonno Gloucester family since we opened our doors in 2016. It’s bittersweet to see him leave to pursue his own entrepreneurial venture, especially as we’re gearing up for our five-year celebration this weekend,” said Chef/Owner Anthony Caturano. “Neal is going to stay on with us through the summer to ensure a seamless transition with our next executive chef. I know Neal will add to the Cape Ann culinary scene, and I look forward to what he is going to offer the community.”

To show its appreciation of five years of business, Tonno Gloucester is hosting a fundraising lunch event on Friday, June 25, 2021 from 11am – 4pm. Tickets are available for $100 per person and will allow customers the opportunity to order any of the items off their regular menu. 100% of the proceeds will go to the Gloucester Fund, which helps fund summer firework display and honor the memory of COVID-19 victims.
