Like Picking Trash? Trashfinder's Ball Tour Kicks off in Beverly Next Week

Tour starts March 23 at Beverly's Franco-American Club.

Morphing from a local event that started in Beverly, The Trashfinder’s Ball is going on tour this spring, kicking off at the Franco-American Club next week.

The tour, which begins March 23, "helps communities celebrate their trash and also help promote re-use, recycling and fun," according to the event's creator Sean Devlin.

"The Trashfinder's Ball is a ball for trash pickers, aka, selective sifters," Devlin said on his event's website. "They bring their most prized trash finds to the ball for judging. There's a panel of three esteemed judges who will examine each trash find. After the finds are all examined the judges will choose five finalists. Each finalist is interviewed by the emcee because the story behind the trash find is as interesting as the trash find itself!"

Alongside the juried trash finds, the event will feature dancing to the improvisational, seven piece band known as the Found Objects, puppets, improv comedy, trash talk, and more.

After Beverly, Devlin will travel to Newburyport, Portsmouth, and Gloucester, with his longterm vision set to travel the country with the Trashfinders Ball.
