Update: One Dead in Crash Near Endicott College
Police believe speed and alcohol may have been factor in single-car crash that killed a passenger and severely injured the driver.

Beverly, MA - A 19-year-old man is dead following a crash near the entrance of Endicott College in Beverly early Saturday morning.
Police believe alcohol and speed may have been a factor in the crash.
At approximately 12:15 a.m. on Saturday morning, police responded to the area of 376 Hale Street for a single vehicle crash into a telephone pole. When police got to the scene, they found a BMW with 2 occupants that had crashed into a utility pole. With assistance from paramedics with Northeast Ambulance Service, and members of the Beverly Fire Department, both driver and passenger were extricated and transported to Beverly Hospital.

The passenger a 19 year-old man (whose name is being withheld pending notification to next of kin), was pronounced dead at BeverlyHospital.
The operator of the vehicle, a 20 year-old man, whose name is also being withheld, was transported from Beverly Hospital to Lahey Hospital Burlington with severe injuries.

The crash remains under investigation by the Beverly Police and Massachusetts State Police Accident Reconstruction Team. It is believed that alcohol and speed may have been a factor, according to a release from the Beverly Police Department.
