Unwanted Pruning, Almost Dog Rescue: Beverly Police Log

Officers responded to furniture flying, someone nearly broke a car window to rescue a dog, and more from the Beverly Police log.

  • Officers responded to a report of dogs barking "incessantly" last Friday around 7:30 a.m. on Pickett Street.
  • Police responded to a report of suspicious activity in the area of McKay Street last Friday around 11 a.m. Officers told someone that they couldn't hang out in a van in front of the playground.
  • Officers responded to a report of furniture being thrown out of a Pond Street door on Friday around 9 p.m. Police found there was no basis for the call.
  • Jonathan William Bruno, 31, of Lynn, was arrested on charges of threatening to commit a crime, possession of a class B drug, and driving with a suspended license last Friday around 9 p.m. after a traffic stop in the area of Windsor Road.
  • Christian J. Favazza, 25, of Gloucester, was arrested on charges of possession of class B and A drugs last Sunday around 9 a.m. after a report of suspicious activity on Route 128.
  • A driver hit the gas instead of the brake when pulling into a parking spot at a Dodge Street convenience store on Saturday around 1:30 p.m., hitting something in front of the store.
  • Police responded to a report of kids shooting BB guns at passing cars on Cabot Street on Saturday around midnight. Police couldn't find anything in the area.
  • Someone reported being threatened on Facebook over a boyfriend on Sunday around 9 p.m.
  • The animal control officer issued a citation to a person for leaving a dog in a car on Dodge Street with just the windows cracked on Tuesday around noon. The owner returned just before a window would have been broken to retrieve the dog.
  • Police responded to a report of cut plants, flowers, and shrubs on a Butman Street property on Wednesday around 6:30 p.m.
  • Brian Joyce, 57, of Beverly, was arrested on charges of disorderly conduct on Thursday around 2 p.m. after a report of a person threatening people at the Beverly Depot.
  • Sarah A. Legallo, 24, of Gloucester, was arrested on charges of drunken driving, negligent driving, and driving with no inspection sticker on Thursday around 2 a.m. after a traffic stop on Bennett Street.
  • Laciana Sonee Smith, 18, of Beverly, was arrested on charges of carrying a dangerous weapon and possession of a firearm or ammunition without a firearms identification card on Thursday around 9:30 a.m. after a report of a disturbance on Essex Street.
