Weekend Arrest Charges Include OUI, Assault, Bomb Threat

The following was provided by the Beverly Police Department. Where charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

The following is an excerpt from the Beverly Police log:

Friday, Nov. 16

  • A man was reported walking down Route 128 at 5:36 p.m. Police searched the area but did not locate him.
  • Police were called to Dunkin Donuts at 6:38 p.m. on report of three children being 'verbally abused' by a female caretaker. Police spoke to the kids as well as the caretaker, who all appeared to be fine. Police said they will view the security video in Dunkin Donuts.
  • A group of kids in the road on Bass Street were reportedly causing a disturbance at 11:54 p.m.

Saturday, Nov. 17

  • Police were called to School Street at 12:29 a.m. on report of a loud party. When police arrived they dispersed about 30 Endicott students, and advised the residents of the city's noise ordinance.
  • At 1:32 a.m. police arrested Josiah Woodhouse, 37, of 40 Heather St., on charges of operating under the influence of liquor, second offense, marked lanes violations, and reckless operation of a vehicle.
  • A vehicle was vandalized on Monument Street at 1:33 a.m.
  • Tools were reported stolen on May Street at 10:01 a.m.
  • A license plate was stolen from a vehicle on Locust Street at 12:21 p.m.
  • Police were called to Bridge Street on report of a man prying into a car at 12:59 p.m. When police arrived they spoke to a man, who was the owner and was locked out of his car. Police assisted in unlocking the vehicle.
  • A Gloucester man was arrested after he threatened to bomb Beverly Hospital at 3:26 p.m.
  • At 9:52 p.m. police arrested Frances Pena, 46, of 620 Reflections Cir. in Casselberry, FL, on charges of domestic assault and battery and assault with a dangerous weapon.

Sunday, Nov. 18

  • Police were called to Rantoul Street at 7:09 a.m. on report of a small fire. Police discovered a lit cigarette was underneath the porch, and it was quickly extinguished. Not damage was reported. 
  • Police responded to a disturbance at Exxon Super Petroleum at 5:21 p.m. Police reports stated a customer was irate over perceived theft of 50 cents worth of gas by the gas station. The customer argued with the clerk and reportedly knocked a candy display onto the ground. When police arrived the person was not on scene.
  • A fight was reported inside a white truck at 9:51 p.m. Police arrested William Eastman, 51, of 9 Leach St. in Salem, on warrant charges.
