Winter Storm Watch for Beverly Monday Morning into Tuesday Morning

Beverly, MA - A Winter Storm Watch is in effect for most of Eastern Massachusetts, including Beverly from Monday morning through Tuesday morning.

The National Weather Service has issued the Winter Storm Watch for a large portion of Eastern Massachusetts, and the Boston metropolitan area, as well as the Merrimack Valley and Cape Ann.

Forecasts say there is the potential for the area to receive four to seven inches of snow across the area Monday and Monday night.

The forecast could change significantly due to the uncertainty of ocean-effect enhanced snow banding. The National Weather Service also says a slight westward shift could increase snow amount, while a track farther east could reduce amount.

Snow is expected to overspread the area Monday morning and afternoon, continuing into Monday night. Winds are expected out of the northeast at 20 mph with gusts up to 30 mph. During the storm, visibilities may be reduced at times to one-half mile or less.

The National Weather Service is warning anyone traveling in the next 24 to 36 hours to monitor the latest forecasts and be prepared to modify any travel plans.

A Winter Storm Watch is issued for the potential of accumulating snow of six or more inches in a 12 hour period or eight or more inches in a 24 hour period.
