Woman Assaults Police Officer, Patron Refuses to Pay for Chinese Food

The following is an excerpt from the Beverly Police Department:
Friday, Jan. 18
- At 12:39 a.m., police assisted an individual who brought home an intoxicated person and could not gain entry to let her into her residence on Rantoul Street.Â
- Police were called to Elliott Street at 1:58 p.m. on report of a man trying to enter an office.
- Police were called to Beverly Jade at 2:26 p.m. on report of a person who would not pay his bill. The individual told police he was not happy with the quality of his meal, but did pay when officers arrived.
- At 4:45 p.m. police arrested Nicole McIntyre, 35, of 41 Mason St. in Salem, on charges of shoplifting at Stop & Shop.
- A GPS was reported stolen from a vehicle parked at Rite Aid at 8:02 p.m.
- Police were called to Simon Street at 8:19 p.m. on report of a fight in the street.

- Police were called to the Stop & Shop parking lot at 12:03 a.m. on report of people fighting. Police searched the area for a victim walking on foot along with a female, but officers were unable to locate anyone looking for assistance.
- Police were called to a fight on Park Street at 12:30 a.m. Police did not find a fight, but did arrive to a house party with approximately 200 people. Police said everyone left without incident, and the residents were given a verbal warning to the city's noise ordinance.
- At 12:52 a.m. police were called to a fight on Cabot Street. Police arrested Raphael Flores, 43, of 257 Tozer Rd., on charges of violating the city's knife ordinance.
- A front window was reported broken, in an act of vandalism, at a Railroad Avenue home at 8:14 a.m.Â
- Police were called to Cabot Street on report of a vehicle swerving on the roadway at 10:35 a.m. Police observed the person who was swerving. Police spoke to the driver and determined all was fine.
- A break-in was reported at Elnew Avenue at 1:15 p.m. Police said the break-in could have happened between Dec. 24 and Jan. 14.Â
- A back window was reported shot out at Kernwood Heights at 2:53 p.m.
- Police were called to Stop & Shop on report of a shoplifter at 8:32 p.m. Police arrested Cheri Brown, 42, of 58 Cabot St., on two counts of assault and battery on a police officer, resisting arrest, and shoplifting.
- At 8:38 p.m. police arrested John Strausser, 27, of 56 River St., on charges of assault and battery, breaking and entering for a misdemeanor, and trespassing.
- Police dispersed a group from an alley on Rantoul Street at 10:17 p.m.
- At 10:26 p.m. police responded to a vehicle accident on McPherson Drive. Sean Rousseau, 31, of 460 Essex St., was arrested on charges of operating under the influence of alcohol, second offense, failure to use car, and reckless operation of a vehicle.
Sunday, Jan. 20
- A vehicle was reported stolen on Judson Street at 1:29 a.m.
- Police were called to Chapman and Bow Street at 2:33 a.m. on report of a person breaking into a Jeep. Police arrived on scene but said all was in order.
- At 4:24 a.m. multiple vehicles were reported broken into on Bass River Road.
- Police were called to a Stone Street residence on report of a child who possibly ingested his mother's medication at 11 a.m.
- A woman reported receiving scam phone calls at 12:54 p.m.
- Police were called to Dane Street Beach on report of multiple dogs running off of leashes at 1:12 p.m. When police arrived they had already left.
- At 3:21 p.m. police were made aware of a situation at the JC Philips Nature Preserve. A person told police a man had "dropped his pants" at the entrance. Police said the action she described sounded more like 'poor timing of a clothing adjustment than criminal intent,' according to the police report.
- Police were called to Manor Road at 6:46 p.m. on report of a man in his apartment waving a sword. Police said the situation was unfounded; people were in the apartment watching football.
