Cape Cod Railroad Tracks Sabotaged: Police
Police said someone put 200-pound concrete blocks on Cape Cod railroad tracks near the Massachusetts Maritime Academy station.

BARNSTABLE, MA — Massachusetts State Police are looking for suspects they said dropped 200-pound concrete blocks on railroad tracks meant to derail a train near the Massachusetts Maritime Academy station. Just before 9 a.m. Thursday, police were called to the tracks for reports of the vandalism.
Lt. Edward Blackwell said he found five concrete blocks on the tracks that were likely placed there overnight. State troopers and railroad workers removed the blocks, some of which weighed around 200 pounds.
The blocks found on the tracks are usually used to hold down a tent for the Cape Cod Polar Express event around the holidays.
