36% Of Falmouth Residents Got At Least 1 Coronavirus Vaccine Dose

Eighty-seven percent of those 75+ have received at least one dose, while 63 percent of them are fully vaccinated.

FALMOUTH, MA — About 36 percent of Falmouth's nearly 31,200 residents have received at least one dose of the coronavirus vaccine, according to new state data released Thursday.

The state's vaccine rollout prioritizing the most vulnerable residents is bearing fruit in Falmouth, where those 75 or older have received the most vaccinations despite making up just 15 percent of the town's population. Eighty-seven percent of those 75+ have received at least one dose, while 63 percent of them are fully vaccinated.

Sixty-nine percent of those 65-74 have received at least one dose while 18 percent are fully vaccinated.

Overall, 11,384 of 31,190 residents in Falmouth have received at least one dose and at least 4 are fully vaccinated.

The Department of Public Health also released town-by-town coronavirus metrics, which showed continued improvement in Falmouth.

The positive test rate fell from 2.3 percent to 2.14 percent, while the average daily incidence rate per 100,000 was 11.5

There were 50 confirmed cases in the past two weeks, bringing the total number of cases since the start of the pandemic to 1,245.
