Falmouth 9-Year-Old Flown To Hospital After Injury At School

The student was hurt during a classroom activity Friday.

FALMOUTH, MA — A student at the Mullen-Hall School was flown to the hospital after part of his thumb was amputated, according to the Cape Cod Times. The 9-year-old boy was hurt during a classroom group activity and sent to the nurse, who called the fire department.

The student was flown to Hasbro Children's Hospital in Providence, RI, the Times reported.

The injury happened Friday morning. Superintendent Lori Duerr told the Times school staff responded "quickly."
