Falmouth Schools Budget Increases 2.5 Percent: Report
The Fiscal Year 2021 budget will include a new position and nearly $200,000 more in education transportation funding.
FALMOUTH, MA — The Falmouth Public Schools budget is increasing for Fiscal Year 2021, according to reporting by the Falmouth Enterprise, with an extra position and a sizeable increase in transportation expenses. The change was announced in the Falmouth School Committee's Jan. 28 meeting.
The total amount is a 2.5 percent increase from Fiscal Year 2020, the Enterprise reported R. Patrick Murphy, the district's finance director, as saying. It's a total of $50,218,817.
Murphy was reported as saying the 2020 general education transportation budget is expected to close out at over $1.8 million, with the 2021 budget expected to increase by $199,000.
