New Falmouth Senior Center Opening At Coronavirus Forces Delay
The center was originally supposed to open in March 2020, but it was postponed amid the coronavirus pandemic.
FALMOUTH, MA — The new Falmouth senior center will have its grand opening this month after more than a year of delays brought on by the coronavirus pandemic. The grand opening for the new center at 780 Main St. is scheduled for 10 a.m., June 30.
The two-story building replaces Falmouth's senior center on Dillingham Avenue. With the support of the select board, finance committee and the council on aging, town meeting voters in 2018 approved $9.7 million in funding, and residents subsequently approved a ballot measure authorizing a debt exemption for construction of the 17,000-square-foot center.
The center was originally supposed to open in March 2020, but it was postponed amid the coronavirus pandemic.
