2 Arrested In Framingham After Ashland Home Invasion

After stealing a car in Worcester, a group broke into a home in Ashland and injured a resident during an armed robbery, police said.

ASHLAND, MA — Police in Ashland are reassuring residents that a home invasion early Wednesday morning was an isolated incident, and saying that a collaboration between local police departments rendered quick arrests.

The incident stemmed from a car theft in Worcester, which police say led Daniel Resende, 24, and a juvenile to enter an Ashland home armed with a shotgun. The home invasion happened just before 2 a.m. Wednesday along Buckley Avenue, and left a resident of the home — a man in his 70s — injured, Ashland Chief Vincent Alfano said in a statement.

After fleeing the home in a minivan, a Framingham officer found the vehicle parked along Staples Drive, according to WCVB. Police were also looking for a Ford pickup truck connected to the home invasion, which a Framingham officer saw parked at a motel along Route 9, the station reported. That's when Resende was arrested.
