FRAMINGHAM, MA — Parents and residents will get a chance to meet the two finalists for the principal job at Stapleton Elementary School this week during a public forum, according to Framingham Public Schools.

Former Stapleton principal Anne Diaz stepped down from the job in February 2020 due to a medical issue. She had taken over the school in 2018. Brenda Maurao, the former FPS assistant director of elementary education, has been serving as interim principal since Diaz departed.

The two finalists for the job are Sara Costa Yuen, the principal of Phoenix Charter Academy in Chelsea, and Caitlin Shelburne, the principal of Making Waves Academy in Richmond, Calif. Both candidates have local roots previously working at Lawrence Public Schools.
