UPDATED: 2016 Salute to Framingham Announces 'You Are Special' Recipients

Tickets are still available for the 2016 Salute to Framingham on Thursday, March 31 at the Sheraton Framingham.

In addition, the Salute program annually recognizes Framingham teachers and staff who go the extra mile to make each day “special” in our public schools. These teachers and staff are given a “You Are Special” designation and are publicly recognized as part of the Salute to Framingham.

The 2016 “You Are Special” recipients are:

  • Jannine Ricchiazzi - BLOCKS
  • Barbieri Elementary Kindergarten Team: Alex Gray, Ana Perez, Karen Sarmiento, Idalgisa Sierra and Lolo Vallejo
  • Elizabeth “Beth” Delahunty - Brophy Elementary
  • Ruthie Ortiz - Brophy Elementary
  • Jane Crosby - Dunning Elementary
  • Elaine Picard - Dunning Elementary
  • Alisha Guerrant - Hemenway Elementary
  • Cheryl Kapalis - Hemenway Elementary
  • Linda Renault - King Elementary
  • Ron Johnson - McCarthy Elementary
  • Kelley McMahon - Potter Road Elementary
  • John “Jack” O’Rourke - Potter Road Elementary
  • Judith Locke - Stapleton Elementary

Framingham Patch published the 2015 You Are Special profiles, and plans to publish this year’s honorees as well between April and the end of the school year.

The Salute to Framingham will take place on Thursday, March 31, at 5 p.m. at the Sheraton Framingham ballroom.

Businesses, organization and individuals can support the Salute to Framingham by becoming a sponsor. You can place an ad in the program book, make a donation in honor of a recipient and/or purchase a ticket to attend the event.

All proceeds from the Salute to Framingham benefit the Framingham High School Foundation which supports the extracurricular Activities, Arts, and Athletics at Framingham High School.
