2020 Framingham Leaf Pickup Begins This Week

The leaf and brush pickup period in Framingham will be shorter this year due to budget reductions.

FRAMINGHAM, MA — Framingham's slightly reduced fall leaf and brush pickup period starts this week.

The typical five-week collection period will be reduced to three weeks in 2020 due to budget cuts made in the spring. Framingham picks up leaf and brush piles in separate collection periods, with brush collection reduced to one week this year.

Leaf collection will run Nov. 16 to Nov. 28, and the brush collection will be Nov. 30 to Dec. 4. Collections will be made on trash and recycling days in each part of the city.

Leaves and other yards waste (like grass and hedge clippings) should be placed curbside in 35-gallon paper bags. Brush should be bundled in piles no larger than 4 inches in diameter and 4 feet in length. The brush also needs to be placed in a marked yard waste container.

Residents who miss leaf and brush collection can bring refuse to the yard waste facility along Dudley Road (north end of Farm Pond Park) on Fridays and Saturday 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. and Sundays 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Residents need a recycling permit to use the yard waste facility.
