AAA Northeast Rounding Up and Recycling Old Car Seats

Seats can be turned into AAA offices between Sept. 8-19, including the Framingham one.

AAA Northeast will pay a $5 bounty for every car seat turned in to a AAA Northeast branch office between September 8-19. Unsafe car seats will be collected by AAA then recycled by Republic Waste.

This effort will remove expired, damaged or recalled car seats from circulation that may be in use or in storage that will no longer provide ample protection in an automobile crash.

Seats may be turned into the Framingham office, located off Route 9 in the Walgreens plaza.

Before turning in an “outlaw” car seat to a AAA branch office, participants are asked to remove the fabric cover and any padding from the seat to ease the recycling process.

Participants will have the opportunity to keep the $5 “bounty reward” or choose to donate the $5 to the local Safe Kids Coalition, where the donations will be used to purchase new car seats for infants and children in need.
