Bristol Plymouth Regional Wins Massachusetts Auto Competition
MassBay Community College hosted the competition for high school students on Saturday.

MassBay Community College is pleased to announce that Bristol Plymouth Regional High School has won this year’s Massachusetts State Automobile Dealers Association (MSADA) competition for high school students.
The event was held Saturday at the College’s Ashland campus.
This team will advance to the National Automotive Technology Competition held at New York’s International Auto Show in March to represent Massachusetts.

Rankings:
1) Bristol Plymouth Regional HS - Jonathan Arruda (Taunton) and Justin Albernaz (Rehoboth)

2) Blackstone Valley Tech - Daniel Rice (Uxbridge) and Matthew Braz (Milford)
3) Assabet Valley Regional HS - Derek Jewell (Marlborough) and Meghan O’Connell (Clinton)
Additionally, Blackstone Valley Tech’s junior team won first place for the junior competition. (Blackstone Valley Tech - Bailey Martin (Upton) and Michael Egan (Bellingham))
And, Bristol Plymouth Regional High School student Jonathan Arruda placed first for the written part of the competition.
This automotive competition gives area high school students the opportunity to test their skill and ability in automotive technology against some of the best high school automotive students in Massachusetts.
The hands-on portion of this competition is performed on a Toyota vehicle to test student’s expertise in diagnostics and system wide automotive knowledge and is based on what students might face as they work in a real world automotive environment.
