Celebration of Life Service Thursday for Carole (Thomson) Guilmette, 83

Married to Paul Edward Guilmette for 54 years, she was a manager at the Boston Globe until her retirement.

Carole (Thomson) Guilmette, 83, of Framingham, died Wednesday, March 2, 2016 at Whittier Rehabilitation Hospital in Westborough.

She was the wife of Paul Edward Guilmette of Framingham for 54 years.

Born in Bristol, CT, she was the daughter of Caroline (Huck) Thomson-Thiesing of Framingham and the late James Thomson.

Until her retirement, she was a manager at the Boston Globe.

Guilmette was an early volunteer in the development of the Hospice movement in Wayland and continued to serve that organization for many years. She was also a long time active member of the Advaita Philosophy Center in Waltham.

Her’s intelligence, humor, and generous hospitality deeply touched her family and numerous friends. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

Besides her husband and mother, she is survived by step-daughters, Holly Borowy of North Carolina and Nancy Nevins and husband Richard of Connecticut; three grandchildren, Brian and Adam Avallone of Connecticut, and Rachael Borowy of North Carolina, two great-grandsons, Joseph and Hudson Avallone and in-laws J. Raymond Guillmette of Connecticut and Irene Buotte of Pennsylvania. She is also survived by her special niece Marcia and grand-nephew Joel Antwi along with many nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews, friends including a special friend Janis Mondano.
