The bridge did not reopen in 2015 as had been originally promised and construction was shut down for the winter. There is currently no estimated date of completion listed on the town website or by MassDOT.
MassDOT closed the bridge in early January 2015 after they found it had deteriorated and needed to replaced. Traffic was detoured over the Wickford Road Bridge.

Built in 1920, the Anthony Colonna Bridge, known by many as the Central Street Bridge, is located on Central Street spanning the Sudbury River overlooking the Saxonville mills.
The state originally estimated the Central Street Bridge project at $6.2 million. The construction bid price was $4.4 million.
"The Department of Public Works recognizes the inconvenience to area residents and those traveling in the area and will work closely with MassDOT to do everything possible to ensure the least amount of interruptions possible to our residents and visitors," the Department of Public Works wrote.
