*Media Alert*City of Framingham to Open Cooling Centers Due to Excessive Heat
FRAMINGHAM, MA - With temperatures anticipated to reach heat indexes from 95-105 degrees, the National Weather Service has issued heat warnings. The City will open cooling centers to provide relief from the heat. The City’s beaches are also open.People should continue to take extra precautions working or spending time outside. Strenuous activities should be rescheduled to early morning or evening. Know the signs and symptoms of heat exhaustion and heatstroke. Wear lightweight and loose-fitting clothing when possible, and drink plenty of water.As a reminder, young children and pets should never be left unattended in vehicles under any circumstances. Car interiors can reach incredibly high temperatures in a matter of minutes. Check on your neighbors and loved ones, as well.Cooling Centers will be open at the following locations:

- Framingham Libraries (Each library will offer bottled water and be air-conditioned)
- Main Library (49 Lexington Street - 9 a.m.-7 p.m.)

- Callahan Center (535 Union Avenue, Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.; Tuesday 8:30 a.m. - 7:30 p.m. and Friday 8:30 a.m. - 1:30 p.m.)
