City Mourns Loss of Planning Board Member Stephanie Mercandetti
Marcandetti passed away on Sunday.

FRAMINGHAM, MA—Officials from Framingham issued a message to the city regarding the loss of planning board member Stephanie Mercandetti, who died on Sunday, Jan. 14.
Mercandetti was a member of the board since 2012, a resident of Framingham, and worked as the economic development director for the town of Medway.
"Stephanie’s passing has left the Planning Board Members, residents, friends, family, municipal employees, and members of the Framingham community in great sorrow," said the city's announcement. For the past six years, Stephanie Mercandetti has been instrumental in planning for Framingham’s future, always keeping in mind how each project would impact growth of the community and Framingham’s economy."

According to the announcement, Mercandetti assisted the planning board administration in the streamlining of the permitting processes and launching several successful policies, projects and initiatives, including: subdivision rules and regulations, planning board rules and regulations, zoning bylaws, complete street policy and project Review Guidelines. Stephanie’s devotion to her work and knowledge in her field was unparalleled; she was respected by those that she worked with and will be greatly missed.
“I am deeply saddened by the loss of Mercandetti," said Mayor Yvonne Spicer in a statement. "Although I have not had the opportunity to work with Stephanie, I am aware of her contributions to Framingham. Stephanie was truly an amazing person who touched so many lives without their knowledge through her work. Our hearts and prayers go out to Stephanie’s family, and friends during this most difficult time. May she rest in peace."
