Computers, Keyboard Lab Damaged at Framingham High
Framingham High Principal said it was a "huge hit." She said clean-up has begun. School will open on Monday.

A “cart full of Chromebooks” and the keyboard lab at Framingham High were damaged when a pipe in the H wing burst over the long weekend, explained Principal High Principal Elyse Torbert.
Custodians discovered the damage on Tuesday morning. There are no classes this week due to school vacation.
“Overall, while this is a huge hit, we are lucky,” said Torbert.

Framingham High was one of four schools in the district that suffered damage after 4 pipes burst. The worst schools were McCarthy Elementary, where 9 classrooms and an entire wing was flooded and King Elementary School.
Framingham Public Schools Director of Buildings and Grounds Matt Torti on Tuesday afternoon called the situation “so widespread” and “catastrophic.” He said it is nothing he has seen in his 16 years at the district. He said the district has had pipe issues in the past, but never to this extent.

The damage was contained to the H wing, where the arts and music departments are located. The auditorium was not damaged.
In room H114, all the computers and keyboards were damaged.
“The Technology Department is working on drying the Chromebooks to see what is salvageable,” said Torbert.
She said the other electronics are being aired out to see if they can be used or fixed.
