FRAMINGHAM, MA — A little over a year after the pandemic began, conditions have improved enough that many communities will observe Earth Day in 2021, providing lots of socially-distanced volunteer opportunities.

Here's a look at some upcoming Earth Day 2021 events activities in the MetroWest area:

Great Framingham Cleanup: This litter pickup event is being held in place of the usual Framingham Earth Day festival, and includes a social media contest.

Project Clean Sweep: This two-week event in Marlborough invites residents and businesses to help get rid of litter around the city.

Milford Beautification Day: Another town-wide litter cleanup scheduled for Earth Day weekend and sponsored by Citizens for Milford.

Earth Day outdoor market: Hanson's Farm in Framingham is hosting an outdoor market featuring food, produce, plants and multiple vendors.

Natick Trails Day: Volunteers will meet at the Hunnewell Town Forest on April 17 to help repair and clean trails.

Sudbury Cleanup Day: This April 24 town-wide litter pickup will cover parks, roads and anywhere that needs it.

Sudbury Valley Trustees volunteering: SVT will host multiple volunteer events around Earth Day focused on removing invasive plants.

Science On State Street Fest: This Framingham State University event will feature presentations about a range of topics, including climate change and other environmental threats.
