Edwards Church Hosting World Day of Prayer Event Friday

Children's Hospital pediatrician Julia Koehler to speak at Edwards Church on March 4 at 11 a.m. Public invited.

Edwards Church, UCC will host a World Day of Prayer service for the greater Framingham community on Friday, March 4 at 11 a.m.

World Day of Prayer is an annual international celebration led by women from churches all over the world.

This year’s worship service was prepared by women from Cuba. The theme for the service is “Receive Children; Receive Me.”

The guest speaker will be Dr. Julia Koehler, a pediatrician from Children’s Hospital in Boston and a volunteer physician with the Metrowest Free Medical Program

Dr. Koehler will speak about her work with the Chelsea Collaborative, a pilot project to address the mental health needs of unaccompanied minors who have fled violence in Central America.

Following the service, there will be a light lunch featuring Cuban food.

Edwards Church, UCC is located at 39 Edwards Street in Framingham.

The public is invited.

There is no charge for the service or the meal; an offering will be received in the worship service and donations for the meal are appreciated.
