Evelyn 'Jane' Norton, 89

Norton and her late husband Paul E. Norton, a Framingham firefighter, had seven sons.

FRAMINGHAM, MA - Evelyn “Jane” Norton, 89, a longtime resident of Framingham, passed away peacefully in her home surrounded by her loving family on January 25, 2016, of congestive heart failure.

Jane was the loving wife of the late Paul E. Norton, a Framingham firefighter and local businessman, who died in 2002.

She was the daughter of the late William Dean and Eleanor (Sheehan) Dean of Maine.

Norton was a graduate of Cathedral High School and was employed by New England Telephone in Portland before meeting her husband and ultimately moving to Framingham to raise their seven sons. She returned to the phone
company and retired in 1991.

She loved to travel and most of all spending time with her family.

She leaves behind her seven sons, Paul Norton and his wife, Diane, of Lunenburg, James Norton and his wife, Janice, of Quaker Hill, CT, Michael Norton and Catherine of Orlando, FL, Daughter-in-law Pamela, of Tewksbury, William Norton and his wife, Leslie, of Hudson, John Norton and his wife, Aurora of Millbury, Timothy Norton and his wife, Deborah, of Hopkinton, Joseph Norton, of
Framingham; fifteen grandchildren, Paul, Sean P., Vincent, Kyle, Jonathan, Michelle, Marina, Melissa, Kathleen, Sean R., Joel, Craig, Christian, Shea and Hanna and eleven great-grandchildren, Devin, Mikayla, Violet A, Patrick, Margaret,
Mackenzie, June, January, Violet E, Adelaine, and William.

Norton was also predeceased by her sister-in-law Ruth Lydon and her husband Henry, and grand-daughter Krista.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend visiting hours at the Norton Funeral Home, 53 Beech St., Framingham on Wednesday, Feb. 3, from 4 to 8 p.m.

Funeral Mass to be held on Thursday, Feb. 4, at 9 a.m. at the St. Bridget’s Church, 830 Worcester Rd., Framingham.

Burial will be Saturday, Feb. 6 at 11 a.m. at the Calvary Cemetery, South Portland, Maine.
