Ex-Wayland DPW Foreman's Child-Rape Trial Set for Next Month

Donald Gladu pleads NG to child rape and molestation charges.

WOBURN -- A 59-year-old Framingham man is scheduled for a May 1 trial on child rape and molestation charges.

Donald Gladu, a former veteran Wayland Department of Public Works foreman, is charged in Middlesex Superior Court with: rape of a child by force (four counts) and indecent assault and battery on a child under the age of 14 (two counts).

At a court hearing on Thursday, Judge Laurence Pierce scheduled a May 1 trial date.

Authorities say the alleged offenses began in 1998 and reportedly stopped in approximately 2006.

Gladu was indicted in May of 2016.

"The details of the allegations against this defendant are extremely disturbing," Middlesex District Attorney Marian Ryan.

"On multiple occasions, at several locations, the defendant allegedly raped this child. The victim has told police the abuse started when she was just five years old, " she said.
