UPDATED: Flyers 'Balanced' Attack Defeats Red Hawks
The Framingham High gymnastics team defeated Natick High 133.65 to 132.15 Monday, to improve to 5-2 on the season.
The Framingham High gymnastics team defeated rival Natick High Monday.
The Flyers defeated the Red Hawks by a score of 133.65 to 132.15, to go 5-2 on the season.
“It was a close meet throughout,” said co-captain Kate O’Callaghan. “Natick is one of our great competitors.”

Flyer Rachel Lew had a solid meet, receiving three 8s said O’Callaghan. Her best was an 8.9 on the vault.
Senior co-captain Ellie Burkett scored two nines, including one on the balance beam.

“Beam, yet again, was amazing,” said O’Callaghan, referring to her teammates performances. “Everyone stuck their rountines beautifully.”
Competing on beam for the Flyers was Burkett, Jess Wulf, Kalena Chin, Sophie Rich, and Bryn Mcllhenny.
O’Callaghan scored a season high on the vault with an 8.4. Teammate Catherone O’Donnell scored an 8.0 on the vault. Freshman Kelly O’Callaghan scored a 7.7 on the vault and teammate Emma Whiting had a season high 7.9 on the vault.
Freshman Amanda Fawell had a “beautiful bar routine and scored her highest thus far,” said O’Callaghan.
“We had a great meet and plan to continue on focusing on staying clean in our routines,” said O’Callaghan.
Next up for the Flyers is a home meet against Braintree on January 29 at 7 p.m., followed by the Bay State Conference Championships on Saturday, Feb. 6.
