Flyers Relay Finishes Second, Sets School Record at State Track Meet

The Framingham High girls 4X200 relay team set a new school record in finishing second overall at the Division 1 state track meet Sunday, Feb. 14.

Leche Small-Brown, Jenny Ribeiro, Zoie Carter and Olivia Rothenberg were seeded first in the race but finished second to Newton-North with a time of 1:46.20.

“They are bound for all-states,” said Framingham High girls indoor head coach Chris Collins.

Overall, the Flyers scored 14 points and finished in 12th place overall, said Collins.

Junior Ashley Wilson finished third in the state in the 55-meter hurdles with a time of 9.04 seconds.

Wilson also will compete in the all-states meet on Saturday.

Senior captain Lucy Matzilevich finished 12th in the mile with a tome of 5:36.69 minutes.

Senior captain Olivia Rothenberg finished 13th in the dash with a time of 7.62 seconds. Senior captain Hilda Kusi finished 15th overall in the dash at 7.62 seconds, with freshman Leche Small-Brown 16th at 7.63 seconds.

Senior Hannah Greenberg finished 22nd overall in the hurdles with a time of 9.99 seconds.

Senior captain Ayana McKay finished 24th overall in the shot put with a throw of 27-feet, 6.5 inches.
