Former Interim Town Manager, Former Selectman Mulvey Running For Framingham Charter Commissioner

Voters will decide if they wish to create a Charter Commission and elect 9 Commissioners on Tuesday, March 29.

Two-term former Selectman and two-time Interim Town Manager Valerie Mulvey is running for Framingham Charter Commission.

Editor’s Note: Framingham voters will decide a ballot question on March 29, if they want to create a Charter Commission to study Framingham’s form of government. Also on that ballot, Framingham voters will be asked to elect 9 Charter Commissioners. Framingham Patch is allowing every candidate for commissioner to submit an announcement, per the Framingham Patch election policy.

Below is Mulvey’s statement:

Creating a Charter Commission will allow our community to study and evaluate forms of government and make a thoughtful, informed recommendation to Framingham voters.

I have lived in Framingham for 42 years and during that time I have been extensively involved in community affairs. I believe the breadth and depth of my experience and knowledge uniquely qualify me to serve on the Charter Commission.

I am a graduate of Brandeis, the Honeywell Financial Development Program and Boston College Law School. I am member of the MA Bar, the MA District of the US District Court and the MA Town Clerks’ Association.

If elected, I pledge to support a charter process that is open, transparent, thoughtful and inclusive.

I will devote my time, talent, knowledge and experience to help craft a charter that will best serve the Framingham residents. I am grateful to Framingham First for providing us with this timely opportunity to study and analyze other forms of government and present our community with a clear choice at the next Town Election.
