FRAMINGHAM, MA — Framingham's 2019 Christmas tree lighting ceremony will be held on Dec. 6, and will feature a tree donated by a local family. Before the lighting, attendees can enjoy Christmas carols and food — and Santa Claus will be there after.

Here's more from a Framingham press release:

The City will host the 28th Annual Christmas Tree Lighting 5:45-8 p.m. at City Hall at 150 Concord Street Friday, December 6. All are welcome to watch as Santa and Mrs. Claus use a little holiday magic to light a 35-foot white spruce tree donated by the Casey family who lives on Newbury Street.

Before Santa and Mrs. Claus light the tree in front of City Hall, the Girl Scouts will help get people in the holiday mood with some merry music, and the Framingham Public Library will hand out popcorn to attendees. Afterward, everyone will head inside City Hall for cookies, hot chocolate, a concert from the Framingham Middle Schools Jazz Band, face painting from Keefe Tech, and visits and pictures with Santa and Mrs. Claus. For the second year, each child will get a book.

This year, pictures with Santa and Mrs. Claus will be taken in front of a green screen and available for digital download the next day for free.
