Framingham Celebrates Pride With Flag Raising Ceremony

Framingham officials came together to sign a joint proclamation to declare June 2019 as Pride Month.

FRAMINGHAM, MA — Framingham officially declared June to be Pride month in the city, and kicked off the month of festivities with a Pride flag raising ceremony on Saturday. Mayor Yvonne Spicer was joined by School Committee members, legislative representatives and City Councilors to reveal the flag in the Memorial Plaza of City Hall.

Framingham officials came together to sign a joint proclamation to declare June 2019 as Pride Month. In the proclamation, they requested Framingham residents to respect, honor, and recognize the enduring efforts and ongoing contributions of the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, and Queer members of our community.

To continue the celebration, Framingham’s City Hall will be illuminated each week with a different color of the Pride Flag. Framingham lit the front of City Hall with blue lights Wednesday this week. The colors of the lights will change each Wednesday based on the following schedule:
