Framingham Cyclist, 47, Struck By Wellesley Driver
The Wellesley man, 21, has been charged with OUI.

Wellesley Police have arrested a man, 21, for striking a Framingham cyclist Friday night.
He was charged with operating a vehicle, while under the influence of alcohol.

Wellesley Police said the cyclist was a Framingham man, 47. He was transported to the Beth Israel Deaconess in Boston for evaluation. Although he was unconscious and unresponsive at the scene, he suffered non-life threatening injuries, according to Wellesley Police. His name has not been released.
The operator of the vehicle was later identified as Connor Campanell, 21, 55 Livermore Road, Wellesley.

A witness who had been travelling in a vehicle in front of Campanelli observed the crash and notified the police.
The witness told police the cyclist had been traveling north on Hampshire Road and Campanelli had been traveling south when he struck the cyclist.
Campanelli voluntarily came to the police station on March 11, after speaking with officers was placed under arrest, according to Wellesely Police.
He was charged with leaving the scene of an accident with personal injury, operating under the influence of liquor and causing a serious injury accident, negligent operation of a motor vehicle, speeding and failure to keep right for oncoming traffic.
Campanelli was booked in the usual manner, afforded all rights and later released on $3,000 bail, said Wellesley Police in a release.
He will be arraigned at Dedham District Court on Monday, March 14.
Members of the Wellesley Police Department’s Accident Reconstruction Team responded to Hampshire Road to process the crash scene. Investigators from the Wellesley Police Department and Norfolk County District Attorney’s Office are investigating the crash.
The incident remains under investigation and no further information available for release at this time.
