Framingham Democrats to Caucus To Elect Delegates To State Convention

The caucus is scheduled for Sunday, Feb. 21.

FRAMINGHAM, MA - Democrats in Framingham will be holding a caucus on Sunday, Feb. 21, to elect delegates to the 2016 Massachusetts Democratic Convention.

The Caucus will take place at Framingham Green, 136 Maynard Road

Doors will open at 6 p.m. for registration, and election of delegates to the state convention will begin at 7 p.m.

Candidates and those voting for them must have been registered as Democrats before January 31, 2016.

The caucus is open to all registered Democrats in Framingham, and the Democratic Town Committee welcomes participants.

Framingham will elect 34 delegates and 5 alternates.

Delegates will be divided equally between men and women, and all ballots will be written and secret.

Youth, minorities, and people with disabilities, who are not elected as delegates or alternates may apply to be “add-on” delegates.

This year, the Massachusetts Democratic Convention will be held Saturday, June 4, at the Tsongas Center at UMass/Lowell.

This year’s convention will be an “Issues and Action Agenda Convention” and will feature Forums, organizing workshops, exciting speakers and more.

In addition to the caucus activities at this meeting, the Democratic Town Committee will be collecting non-perishable foods, personal hygiene items and monetary donations for the Pearl Street Cupboard and Shelter, as this month’s charity.
