UPDATED: Framingham High Junior Wins National Bilingual Contest

The bilingual Framingham student won the 45th Annual Nationwide Writing Contest.

A Framingham High School junior is the winner of the 45th Annual Nationwide Writing Contest for bilingual students, sponsored by the National Association for Bilingual Education.

Helen Landaverde is enrolled in a bilingual classroom and has a B average of better in academic grades and at least a 90 percent attendance record.

As the winner of NABE’s 2016 writing contest, she will receive a $500 cash prize and will travel to Chicago (along with a parent/guardian) to attend the NABE Conference’s awards luncheon on March 4.
