Framingham High Principal To Go On Maternity Leave
"I am supremely confident the building will be in good hands during my absence," wrote Principal Elyse Torbert.

First year Framingham High Principal Elyse Torbert is expected to go on maternity leave next month.
Torbert announced that former Framingham High School Principal Ralph Olsen will be acting principal while she is on medical leave, in an email to staff, parents, and students today. Feb. 7.
“Olsen’s wealth of experience and intimate personal knowledge of the building and its key players make him a perfect fit to step in midway through a year and keep our operation running smoothly and effectively,” wrote Torbert, who is expecting her second child.

“Olsen will join a strong administrative team,” said Torbert.
That team includes Associate Principal Anne Ludes and four vice principals.

“I will continue to be in contact with Mr. Olsen while I am out, and he is already making site visits to FHS to reacclimate himself to the building, but I am supremely confident the building will be in good hands during my absence,” wrote Torbert.
Torbert was named the new principal of Framingham High in April 2015.
She officially took over the position on July 1, 2015.
Prior to that she serves as the school’s first associate principal.
She was one of two finalists for the Framingham High School principal position, when Mike Welch announced he was leaving after a decade to become Superintendent of Schools in Dedham.
Adam Goldberg was hired as Principal, by Superintendent of Schools Stacy Scott.
Torbert was named Associate.
Goldberg went on a medical leave, and then left the district.
Torbert, prior to being named Associate Principal at Framingham High, was a vice principal of the school.
Framingham High has more than 2,000 students.
