Framingham Holding Girl Scout Registration Monday

Girls, in grades K-12, are eligible for Scouting. Registration Monday, Sept. 28 at main Framingham Library.

Register your daughter to a be a Framingham Girl Scout on Monday night, Sept 28 at the main Framingham Library at 6:30 p.m.

Girls in grades K-12 may register as Scouts.

Girls, who attend a Framingham-based school or live in Framingham may register with Framingham Girl Scouts.

Girl Scouts is the largest organization for girls in the world. Their mission is to build girls of courage, confidence, and character, who make the world a better place. Through activities in science and technology, business and economic literacy, and outdoor and environmental awareness, Girl Scouting provides girls with opportunities for fun and friendship while fostering the development of leadership skills and self-esteem.

Framingham Girl Scouts participate in activities and have fun with their own Scout Troops, the Framingham service unit, and the Eastern Massachusetts Girl Scout Council.

The Framingham Girl Scouts service unit schedules more than a dozen events annually.

The Eastern Massachusetts Council also offers 100s of other events and camping programs during April school vacation and the summer.

Last year, Framingham Girl Scouts participated in the the town’s veterans events including Memorial Day and Veterans Day.

Annually, Framingham Girl Scouts lead the town in a sing-a-long in anticipation of Santa arriving to light the town’s Christmas tree.

While Girl Scouts do sell cookies, they also try new activities while working towards badges, complete volunteer work and make new friends. They learn cooperative, social and leadership skills.

Founded by Juliette Gordon Low in 1912, today there are more than 3 million Girl Scouts and almost 1 million adult members working primarily as volunteers.

  • 93% of female astronauts were once Girl Scouts.
  • Hillary Rodham was a Girl Scout, and as First Lady, she was honorary President of the Girl Scouts. Every First lady since Edith B. Wilson has been the honorary President of Girl Scouts, including Michelle Obama.
  • 53% of all women business owners are former Girl Scouts.
  • 76% of all Girl Scout alumnae report that Girl Scouts had a positive impact
    in their lives.
