Framingham Opening Cooling Centers Amid Heat Wave
Temperatures will soar into the mid-90s in Framingham this week, and a cool-down won't come until after Wednesday.
FRAMINGHAM, MA — Temperatures will remain in the 90s in Framingham possibly until Wednesday, and the city is opening cooling centers to help residents stay safe during the heat wave.
Framingham and communities east of I-495 are under a National Weather Service heat advisory Monday. The heat index could get as high as 99 degrees locally, according to the weather service.
A cool-down should come by Thursday, with temperatures only forecast into the high 70s that day.

Here are the cooling centers that will be open Monday and Tuesday in Framingham with air conditioning and bottled water available:
- Main library, 49 Lexington St., 9 a.m. to 7 p.m.
- McAuliffe library, 746 Water St., 9:30 a.m. to 7 p.m.
- Callahan Center, 535 Union Ave., 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday; 8:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday
