FRAMINGHAM, MA — Framingham on Wednesday put out a call seeking proposals for the next phase of the city's economic development strategic plan, according to a bid posting.

A long-range economic development plan got underway during the 2016 Town Meeting, and the first phase was completed in 2018, with a final report published in early 2019.

The first phase identified the city's key strengths and weaknesses when competing for growth against bigger cities in the ares like Cambridge, Boston and Worcester.

The second phase of the economic development strategic plan will identify the economic development potential of nine neighborhood centers across the city, according to the phase one report. The first phase only focused on Nobscot and southeast Framingham, including the Waverly Street corridor.

There will also be a third phase, which will use the two preceding reports to create a comprehensive plan with action items for Framingham to achieve.

Phase two proposals will be accepted through Dec. 30, according to the bid documents.
