Framingham To Preview Major Nobscot Intersection Project
The project will reshape the intersection of Edgell Road, Edmands Road and Water Street.

FRAMINGHAM, MA — The Framingham Department of Public Works will host a community forum in March to preview plans for a major rebuild of a Nobscot intersection.
The project will overhaul the intersection of Edgell Road, Edmands Road and Water Street from Hemenway Elementary west to the Shillman senior living complex. Framingham was awarded a $3.4 million MassWorks grant in January 2020 for the project.
"City staff and the design consultant will present information about the project, including pedestrian safety and access improvements, replacement of the existing traffic signals, roadway geometry modifications, streetscape and drainage improvements, ornamental street lighting, sidewalk replacement, and new roadway pavement," the public works department said in a statement Thursday. "The project will require detours and road closures over the course of construction."

The rebuild comes during the transformation of the former shopping plaza at the southeast corner of Water Street and Edgell Road into a mixed-use development.
The community meeting will be held via Zoom on March 18 beginning at 6 p.m. View a construction flier for the project on the city's website.
