Framingham Public Works Executive Director Honored With Leadership Award

The award is given to an individual who demonstrated key executive leadership of water, wastewater, or other environmentally focused group.

FRAMINGHAM, MA - Peter Sellers, Executive Director of Framingham Public Works, was presented with the Elizabeth A. Cutone Executive Leadership Award at the New England Water Environment Association’s Annual Meeting at the Boston Marriott Hotel on January 27.

Established in 2014, this award honors Elizabeth A. Cutone who served as New England Water Environment Association’s Executive Director.


The Executive Leadership Award is given annually to an individual(s) who has demonstrated key executive leadership of water, wastewater or other environmentally focused organizations.

“Peter is truly a ‘hands-on’ leader, and immerses himself in all aspects of the daily activities of the Framingham Public Works. He sets a strong example and high standard for over 100 operators, engineers and administrative staff to provide excellent public service on a daily basis to all members of our community,” said Framingham Town Manager Robert Halpin. “He collaborates closely with residents, civic groups, businesses, government officials, and regulators to create public awareness and understanding of the critical need and importance of the services the Framingham Public Works provides.”
