Framingham Woman Cycles 30 Miles For Alzheimer's Awareness
"My dad had Alzheimer's, which was quite advanced by the time he passed."

FRAMINGHAM, MA—A Framingham woman is taking to her cycle to bike it 30 miles, all in the name of raising funds and awareness about Alzheimer's disease.
Susan Richardson cycles on Saturday, June 9, for the Alzheimer’s Association, Massachusetts/New Hampshire Chapter’s RIDE to End Alzheimer’s.
“My dad had Alzheimer’s, which was quite advanced by the time he passed,” said Richardson in a statement. “I want to make a difference not only for the future with research, but for the present to support those who suffer from the disease and those who take care of them.”

Richardson’s mother, and father’s caregiver, said she could not bear to place her husband anywhere outside of the home. They both witnessed the effects Alzheimer's can have and how it can take someone away little by little. Susan is keeping her father in her heart as she hits the course again for the 2018 RIDE. She is excited to feel the support of this community as she takes on 30 miles to fight the disease that has affected her whole family, said the announcement.
Starting and finishing at Odiorne State Park in Rye, NH, the RIDE provides a 2-, 30-, 62- and 100-mile route through the towns of coastal New Hampshire and the north shore of Massachusetts. Formerly called Memory Ride, the RIDE to End Alzheimer’s grew from a small, family-inspired event to a cycling challenge attracting riders throughout New England and beyond. Since the event began 22 years ago, the event has raised more than $5,000,000 for Alzheimer’s and dementia research.
