‘Strike Out Cancer’ with the Jimmy Fund
Baseball pin-up fundraising campaign runs from July 22 - August 16
FRAMINGHAM, Mass. — From July 22 through August 16, customers of The Paper Store will be invited to contribute $1, $3, or $5 to the Jimmy Fund’s “Strike Out Cancer” pin-up campaign. In return for their contributions, customers receive a baseball pin-up on which they can write their name. The pin-ups will be displayed in stores to show customers how easy it is to make a difference in the fight against cancer. The Paper Store locations are scattered throughout New England and New Jersey.

In 2011, The Paper Store stepped up to the plate and began fundraising for the Jimmy Fund with the “Strike Out Cancer” program. When customers purchase a baseball pin-up, 100 percent of the proceeds benefit cancer research and adult and pediatric patient care at Boston’s Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. The Paper Store has raised more than $143,000 for the Jimmy Fund through the “Strike Out Cancer” campaign.
“The Paper Store is honored to be involved in such a distinguished program with such an honorable organization,” said Vanessa Keefe, Director of Marketing, The Paper Store. “Nearly everyone can say they’ve been affected by cancer in some way. Participating in this program allows The Paper Store employees and customers to show their support in finding a cure.”
“We are so grateful for The Paper Store’s partnership and their dedication to helping us Strike Out Cancer,” said David Giagrando, assistant vice president, corporate partnerships, Dana-Farber and the Jimmy Fund. “Thanks to the generosity of The Paper Store’s customers, we are working to further adult and pediatric patient care and cancer research at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute.”
