FRAMINGHAM, MA — The local community is rallying to support the family and business of Samantha Amenta-Stavar, the Dulce D Leche co-owner who died over the weekend.

Amenta-Stavar, 47, was reported missing on Saturday night. After a two-day search, police found her dead in Natick on Monday.

The couple opened a second café and retail kitchen along Route 135 in Ashland in 2019.

A GoFundMe fundraiser has also been set up for Amenta-Stavar's family by Doragon Ramen owner Alan MacIntosh. The fundraiser is seeking $25,000, and as of Tuesday morning had raised about $5,000.

"The community is in shock at the loss. So many people remember their visits with Sam and Jules just within the past few days," MacIntosh wrote in the GoFundMe appeal. "Many have recounted their experiences with Sam on their visits to the shop, and how caring, and selfless she was. Even during struggling times, Jules & Sam would do anything and everything they could to give back to the community."
