Get It To The Curb: Storm Debris Pickup Scheduled In Framingham

The Department of Public Works is collecting storm debris from recent winter storms starting Monday, May 7.

FRAMINGHAM, MA—Those were some expensive and destructive storms. And not only do we have the most un-springlike spring in recent memory, but we're still cleaning up the debris from those winter Nor'easters.

On Tuesday, April 17, the City Council voted in favor to provide $200,000 in funding for tree and brush debris collection. Get your debris to the curb by May 7, when the DPW starts its sweeps of the city.

Storm debris to be collected should be 14 inches in diameter or less and does not need to be bundled or cut to specific length or dimensions. Trees, tree branches and brush will be collected; small twigs can be bagged in biodegradable bags only. The city will not collect tree stumps, leaves, grass clippings or construction debris.
Residents should neatly stack the tree and brush debris at the edge of the road, but should be careful not to obstruct the roadway or sidewalks. City employees will not enter private property to gather the debris.
