'Great Framingham Cleanup' Planned For Earth Day
Framingham Earth Day Festival and Keep Framingham Beautiful organizers are asking residents to collect litter during the daylong event.

FRAMINGHAM, MA — In 2020, the cancellation of Framingham's annual Earth Day festival led to the creation of a local litter cleanup group. The festival won't happen in 2021 either, but organizers hope to grow the litter cleanup group for a one-day event.
In mid-April, the organizers behind the Framingham Earth Day Festival and Keep Framingham Beautiful are hosting the "Great Framingham Cleanup" ahead of the April 22 holiday. The organizers say the distributed littler cleanup is a safe, socially-distanced way to celebrate Earth Day.
Their goal: get at least 100 Framingham residents to go out and pick up litter, snap photos and post them on the Keep Framingham Beautiful Facebook page. Organizers will award the best photos, whether it's for the biggest litter haul, oddest litter discovery or the most creative cleanup.
