After a two-month investigation, Framingham police arrested Lewis in September of 2015 saying she stole more than $20,000 from a 63-year-old disabled woman who was under Lewis' care. Police say that in July of 2015, the victim's brother told police he noticed several transactions on her bank account that he didn't recognize.

When he confronted Lewis about the missing money, she indicated she kept a log of all purchases and banking, and she would go home and get the log. She left and never returned.
